  • Argentine tennis player Tomas Martin Etcheverry clinched his first ATP Tour title by winning the Rio Open in Brazil. The 26-year-old defeated Chile’s Alejandro Tabilo 3-6, 7-6(3), 6-4 in a hard-fought final.
  • Despite rain delays forcing him to play both the semi-final and final on the same day, Etcheverry secured his maiden ATP 500 crown and recorded his 100th tour-level win. The victory lifted him to World No. 33 in the ATP rankings. In doubles, Brazil’s Joao Fonseca and Felipe Melo claimed the title.
