  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Prime Minister of Papua New Guinea, James Marape, together released a translation of the Tamil classic 'Thirukkural' in the Tok Pisin language.
  • Composed by saint-poet Thiruvalluvar, it is considered to be one of the greatest works on ethics and morals.
  • The book is co-authored by Subha Sasindran and Sasindran Muthuvel, who is the Governor of the province of West New Britain. 
  • It aims to bring Indian culture and ideas to the people in Papua New Guinea.
  • Tok Pisin is the most widely spoken language in the Papua New Guinea.
