  • Today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the groundwork for the Kushinagar International Airport and other projects in Uttar Pradesh.
  • It is worth noting that, following Lucknow and Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh is set to get its third international airport today, and the new airport will help Buddhist pilgrims in India with their air travel needs.
  • The Kushinagar Foreign Airport, which is expected to cost Rs 260 crore, will allow domestic and international pilgrims to visit Lord Buddha's MahaparinirvanaSthal and will serve as a link between Buddhist pilgrimages holy places around the world.
