  • The 97th Academy Awards were announced in Los Angeles. During this, Zoe Saldana won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for the film Emilia Perez. 
  • Kieran Culkin was awarded the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for A Real Pain. Meanwhile, Sean Baker's Anora won the title for Best Film Editing, while Conclave received the award for Best Adapted Screenplay. 
  • The Substance was awarded for Best Makeup and Hairstyling. The short film Anuja, which was nominated from India in the short film category at the 97th Academy Awards, missed out on the award.
