  • South Korea has successfully tested its first indigenous space rocket. The 'Nuri' rocket will launch a 1.5-tonne payload into orbit 600-800 kilometres above the Earth.

  • South Korea intends to launch a spacecraft to the Moon by 2030.
  • The satellite failed to eject during its first test in 2009, and it exploded after takeoff during the second test in 2010.
