Soumendu Bagchi, an Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer, has been appointed as India's next ambassador to Iraq.
Bagchi currently serves as the Deputy Director General of the Indian Council of World Affairs (ICWA).
Abhilasha Joshi, another IFS officer, has been appointed as India's next envoy to Chile.
Joshi, who belongs to the 1995 batch, is presently serving as an additional secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs.
