  • The Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES) organised the General Assembly in New Delhi with the first 'Blue Discussions' on the sea.
  • The General Assembly was made co-convenor of the Ambassador of France to India and the Ambassador of Costa Rica.
  • The main objective of the meeting was to have high-level discussions on ocean health and governance issues.
  • The meeting was jointly chaired by the United War Union of India, French Ambassador Thierry Mathu, and the Chargé d'Affaire of Costa Rica, Sofia Salas Monge.
  • More than 50 participants including teachers, research institutions and government organizations were present in the event.
