  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday launched the book 'Saurashtra-Tamil Sangamprashastih' by Shree Somnath Sanskrit University during the closing ceremony of 'Saurashtra Tamil Sangamam'.
  • It is based on the historical event of the auspicious confluence of the two holy places of Rameshwaram and Somnath.
  • The best verses from these compositions have been compiled in ‘Saurashtra-Tamil Sangamprashastih’.
  • The Saurashtra Tamil Sangamam was organised from April 17 to 26 in Somnath.
  • Saurashtra Tamil Sangamam is unique exercise to facilitate a consistent and improved exchange between individuals from diverse regions and lifestyles. 
  • Saurashtra Tamil Sangamam is an initiative of the 'Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat' program, aims to preserve and promote the rich culture & heritage of Saurashtra and Tamilnadu.
