  • As part of a bureaucratic restructuring, senior bureaucrats Meera Mohanty and Ritesh Chauhan have been named as joint secretary in the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) and chief executive officer of the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, respectively.
  • She has been appointed as the Joint Secretary, PMO for a combined tenure up to May 1, 2022 by temporarily upgrading the post of director held by the officer.

  • Under the Pradhanmantri Fasal Bima Yojana, the farmers of the country are provided insurance in case of crop failure due to any natural calamity. The scheme is implemented by Agricultural Insurance Company of India. Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana covers only natural calamities such as drought, hailstorm, etc.
