The Nansen Refugee Award is awarded by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).
Recently Abdullahi Mayer has been honored with this award.
Abdullahi Mayar has been given this award for advocating the right to education for displaced children.
Mair, who grew up in the Dadaab refugee camps in Kenya, has delivered more than 100,000 books into the hands of displaced children and youth in the country.

He will be presented with the award at a ceremony in Geneva, Switzerland on December 13, 2023.
This award was started in the year 1954.
