  • Recently 'Nayi Chetna - 2.0' campaign has been launched by the Union Ministry of Rural Development.
  • This campaign will be celebrated in all the states and union territories.
  • This campaign will be celebrated till 23 December.
  • Its objective is to promote awareness against gender-based violence.
  • The campaign activities will raise awareness on gender-based violence among SHG members and encourage GBV reporting.
  • This campaign has been started from New Delhi.
  • Data from the National Family Health Survey – 5 shows that more than 77% women still do not report or talk about their experience of violence.
  • Nayi Chetna Abhiyaan aims to advance the rights of women and gender-diverse individuals, promote a life free from fear and gender-based discrimination and violence.
  • The campaign activities will make the SHG members vocal about gender based violence.
