Thiruvalluvar also known as Valluvar.
He was a Tamil poet-saint.
Dravidian groups considered him a saint because they did not believe in the caste system.
Thirukkural or 'Kural' in Sangam literature was composed by him.
Thirukkural has been compared to the great books of the world's major religions.
Recently the statue of Thiruvalluvar has been unveiled in Sergi city of France.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced the installation of the statue during his visit to France to attend Bastille Day celebrations.
