  • The National Geology Data Collection Portal has been launched by Prahlad Joshi in December 2023.
  • Pralhad Joshi is currently the Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, Coal and Mines.
  • The Ministry of Mines has launched this portal for auction of critical and strategic minerals.
  • This portal was launched in New Delhi.
  • A total of 20 important and strategic mineral blocks will be auctioned under this portal.
  • Out of this, 16 mineral blocks have been kept for overall license and 4 mineral blocks have been kept for mining lease.
  • Minerals include graphite, glauconite, lithium, REE, molybdenum, nickel, potash etc.
  • These auctioned blocks are located in the states of Tamil Nadu, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat and Jammu and Kashmir.
