  • In November 2023, the International Cricket Council has suspended the Sri Lanka Cricket Board.
  • ICC has taken this step after the Sri Lankan government interfered in the cricket board.
  • After the ban, Sri Lanka Cricket Board I.C.C. Will not be able to participate in any tournament.
  • ICC This decision has come after the Sri Lankan Parliament unanimously passed a resolution.
  • The Sri Lankan government dissolved the Sri Lankan Cricket Board on 6 October.
  • After the Sri Lankan government dissolved the board, an interim committee was formed under the chairmanship of former captain Arjuna Ranatunga.
  • However, the court later reinstated the membership of the Sri Lankan Cricket Board.
  • Sri Lanka is also scheduled to host the ICC Under-19 Men's Cricket World Cup in January 2024.
