  • Recently the Hump Second World War Museum has been inaugurated in Arunachal Pradesh.
  • It has been inaugurated in Pasighat in East Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh.
  • It was inaugurated by US Ambassador to India Eric Garcetti and Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu.
  • The Hump World War II Museum pays tribute to the aviators who operated the dangerous air route between north-eastern Assam and Yunnan in China.
  • This route was named 'The Hump'.
  • The air route got its nickname because of the formidable challenges faced by Allied pilots flying from airfields in Assam to airfields in Yunnan.
  • Established in 1942 in response to the Japanese Army blocking the Burma Road, The Hump became the most important airfield in history.
