King of Bhutan Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck honored Khetrapal Singh at the 116th National Day celebrations of Bhutan.
Khetrapal Singh's tenure saw notable progress, including Bhutan becoming one of the first countries to eliminate measles and rubella ahead of schedule.
Dr. Poonam Khetrapal Singh will remain the Regional Director of South Asia of the World Health Organization till the year 2024.
