In the final, D. Gukesh defeated compatriot Pantala Harikrishna.
Gukesh won the title by scoring 4.5 points in the final round after playing a draw with compatriot Pantala Harikrishna.
However, in the final round, India's Grand Master Arjun Erigasi also showed a brilliant game and scored 4.5 points by defeating Hungary's Sanan Szgirov, but Gukesh won the title on the basis of better tiebreak.
Whereas Harikrishna stood third in the competition by scoring 4 points.
The Chennai Grand Masters is an eight-player chess tournament.
It is held mainly to qualify for the next World Chess Championship.
