Recently the Coast Guard Commanders' Conference is being held in New Delhi.
This is the 40th edition of the Coast Guard Commanders' Conference.
This conference was inaugurated by Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh.
The agenda of the conference includes enhancing maritime safety and security such as search and rescue operations, marine pollution response, operations against interdiction and drug trafficking.
This also includes ensuring safety of fishermen/sailors at sea, maximizing coastal security measures, strengthening inter-agency coordination and promoting awareness about the maritime domain.
This conference is held annually in which all the officials put forward the roadmap for the future and discuss about various policy and strategic issues.
Its objective is to create a futuristic vision for the service and brainstorm ways to efficiently address the challenges.
