  • Ayodhya Airport is an international airport under construction in Ayodhya district of Uttar Pradesh.
  • Recently the name of this airport has been changed to Maharishi Valmiki International Airport Ayodhya Dham.
  • Earlier its name was Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram Ayodhya Airport.
  • This airport will be inaugurated by the Prime Minister on 30 December.
  • The first phase of this state-of-the-art airport has been developed at a cost of more than Rs 1450 crore.
  • The area of the airport terminal building will be 6500 square meters.
  • It will be equipped to serve approximately 10 lakh passengers annually.
  • The façade of the terminal building reflects the architecture of the adjacent Shri Ram Temple in Ayodhya.
  • The interiors of the terminal building are decorated with local art, paintings and frescoes depicting the life of Lord Shri Ram.
