A new species of wasp named 'Taeniogonalos dhritia' has been discovered in the Western Ghats in November, 2023.
This new species of wasp was discovered in the Western Ghats in Kerala.
Scientists of Zoological Survey of India (ZSI) have discovered this new species.
It is named after the famous entomologist Dr. Dhriti Banerjee.
It is a species of Trigonalidae family.
These insects are hyperparasitoids (parasites of wasps) where the females lay eggs on other parasitic wasps.
The Trigonalidae family is found in abundance in Europe, North Africa and parts of Asia.
