Pulitzer Prize-winning writer Cormac McCarthy has died at the age of 89.
McCarthy’s first novel ‘The Orchard Keeper’ was published in 1965, his first commercially successful work was ‘All The Pretty Horses’.
It got the National Book Award in 1992 and a movie based on the novel was released in 2000.
McCarthy got the Pulitzer Prize for his novel ‘The Road’ in 2006.
His novel “No Country for Old Men” was adapted into an Academy Award-winning film in 2007.
McCarthy’s other crime thriller ‘The Counsellor’ was a successful film in which stars like Brad Pitt, Cameron Diaz and Penelope Cruz acted.
He went on to publish more than 20 novels, including “Blood Meridian,” “All the Pretty Horses,” and “Suttree.”
