  • Recently, Railways has announced that the Prime Minister will flag off 'Amrit Bharat Train' from Ayodhya on 30th December.
  • This will be the first Amrit Bharat train.
  • Amrit Bharat train is based on push-pull technology.
  • The first Amrit Bharat Express train will run from Ayodhya to Darbhanga in Bihar and the second from Bengaluru to Malda.
  • In a push-pull train, one engine pulls at the front and the other pushes from the rear.
  • Therefore the train picks up speed quickly.
  • This saves a lot of time in the turns, bridges, and stations on the route.
  • The first two Amrit Bharat Express trains are non-air-conditioned.
