PM Modi inaugurated the Sela Tunnel in Arunachal Pradesh's Tawang district, marking its significance as the world's longest bi-lane tunnel at an altitude of 13,000 feet.
The project, costing Rs 825 crore, comprises two tunnels with a total length of around 12 km, including approach roads and link roads, aimed at providing 'all-weather' connectivity to the Tawang region.
The inauguration of the Sela Tunnel marks a significant milestone in India's infrastructure development efforts, particularly in enhancing connectivity to remote and strategically important regions like Tawang in Arunachal Pradesh.
The foundation stone laying for various projects worth Rs 55,600 crore reflects the government's commitment to holistic development, focusing on key sectors such as transportation, energy, and social infrastructure across the nation.
