  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the first Greenfield airport of Arunachal Pradesh near the state capital Itanagar on November 19, 2022.
  • The Donyi Polo airport located at Hollongi will boost connectivity, trade and tourism in the hilly northeastern State.
  • This is Arunachal’s third airport after Tezu and Passighat and the 16th airport for the northeast. 
  • He also dedicated to the nation the 600 MW Kameng hydro power station in Itanagar.
  • Airport’s name reflects the age-old indigenous reverence to Sun (‘Donyi’) and the Moon (‘Polo’) in Arunachal Pradesh.
