  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along with his Australian counterpart Anthony Albanese has announced the renaming of Harris Park, a suburb in Sydney, as 'Little India'.
  • The announcement was made by Albanese as he welcomed PM Modi at a community event in Sydney. 
  • Harris Park, located in Parramatta, is home to a large Indian community. 
  • It is a well-known destination for Indian cuisines and several Indian-owned businesses and shops. Earlier, it was informally called 'Little India'.
