The Odisha government has decided to set up a State Water Information Centre (SWIC). Its main objective is to coordinate, store and disseminate data of water resources.
With the approval, the SWIC will provide a detailed repository of hydro-meteorological data for Odisha.
The Information Centre will function under the Water Resources Department and will operate a team of experts in water resources management, data handling, and management of water resources.
The proposal for appointment of contractual supervisors has also been approved which will ensure identified delivery of delayed services under Internal Child Development Services in Odisha.
