  • The Odisha government has decided to set up a State Water Information Centre (SWIC). Its main objective is to coordinate, store and disseminate data of water resources.
  • With the approval, the SWIC will provide a detailed repository of hydro-meteorological data for Odisha.
  • The Information Centre will function under the Water Resources Department and will operate a team of experts in water resources management, data handling, and management of water resources.
  • The proposal for appointment of contractual supervisors has also been approved which will ensure identified delivery of delayed services under Internal Child Development Services in Odisha.
