  • India’s Nishant Dev won bronze medal in the 71kg category at the IBA Men’s World Boxing Championships in Tashkent, Uzbekistan
  • Kazakhstan’s Aslanbek Shymbergenov beat Nishant on points in a closely-contested semifinal.
  • Indian boxers Deepak Kumar, Mohammed Hussamuddin also made the country proud by winning bronze medals at the IBA Men's World Boxing Championship 2023. 
  • With this, India concluded the tournament with three medals and ranked joint fourth in the medals tally.
  • All three bronze medallists will be awarded USD 50,000 each.
  • This is the first time India has won three medals at a single edition of the tournament.
