On March 16, 1995, the first dose of Oral Polio vaccine was administered, for the first time, to people in India.
Since then, the country annually observes March 16 as the National Vaccination Day.
National Vaccination Day is also known as National Immunization Day. It marks victory of India against Polio disease.
It creates awareness on how vaccination or immunization keeps the citizens of the country safe from highly infectious diseases.
This year's theme is 'Vaccines Work for All'.

National Vaccination Day 2022: 16 March
