  • Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has announced ‘Uttarakhand Gaurav Samman’ award.
  • It is one of the two highest civilian awards of the state along with the Uttarakhand Ratna.
  • Five distinguished people representing different fields, including National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, have been selected for the "Uttarakhand Gaurav Samman" this year.
  • This will be awarded on the occasion of State Foundation Day on November 09.
  • Others to be conferred the award are former Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat (posthumously), Chairperson of the Central Board of Film Certification Prasoon Joshi, poets late Girish Chandra Tiwari 'Girda' (posthumously) and late Viren Dangwal (Posthumously).
  • The award carries an honorarium of Rs one lakh, a citation and a symbol.
