National Mathematics Day is celebrated every year on 22 December in the country.
National Mathematics Day is celebrated in the memory of the great Indian mathematician Srinivas Iyengar Ramanujan.
Celebrating National Mathematics Day started in the year 2012.
This day was announced by the then Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh.
Ramanujam was born in the year 1887 AD in Tamil Nadu.
In the year 1918, Ramanujan was selected for the Royal Society of London.
Ramanujan became the youngest member of Britain's Royal Society.
Ramanujan was the first Indian to be elected a Fellow of Trinity College, Cambridge University.
Ramanujan had compiled about 3,900 results (equations and identities) at the age of 32.
The film 'The Man Who Knew Infinity' based on the life of Ramanujam was made in the year 2015.
