  • Under the National Livestock Mission, the NLM–Entrepreneurship Development Programme offers 50% capital subsidy up to ₹50 lakh to promote livestock and fodder enterprises, including camel, horse and donkey farming. The fully digitised scheme has approved 858 women-led projects and supports organised breed development in underserved regions.
  • The mission also expands livestock insurance, reducing farmers’ premium share to 15% while insuring over 60 lakh animals in five years. The update was shared in the Rajya Sabha by Union Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh.
