  • The Energy Conservation Act was enacted in 2001 by India's Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), which organises the annual National Energy Conservation Day celebrations.
  • This year's theme is 'Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav: Energy Efficient India' and 'Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav: Cleaner Planet.'
