Senior Indian Information Service (IIS) officer Moushumi Chakraborty has been appointed as Director General (News) of All India Radio (AIR).
Vasudha Gupta will be replaced by Moushumi Chakraborty.
Moushumi Chakraborty is a 1991 batch Indian Information Service officer.
AIR has reached almost the entire population of the country and about 92% of the total area.
AIR serves the socio-economically and culturally diverse population by broadcasting in different languages.
