MoSPI signs MoU with ISRO on Urban Frame Survey using Bhuvan

NSSO (FOD) under Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI) has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with National Remote Sensing Centre (NRSC) under Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) to facilitate Urban Frame Survey (UFS).
Under MoSPI, NSSO has collaborated with NRSC in MoU to facilitate urban frame survey.
UFS has been brought into digital mode using state-of-the-art Geo ICT tools and technologies using Bhuvan platform.
Mobile application and fine-tuning of block, IV-unit, ward and city boundaries of UFS is being carried out using high resolution satellite imagery.
The objective of this collaboration is to convert the urban frame from analog to digital mode and help MoSPI to update the urban frame regularly in a timely manner.
