  • The Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports has announced the National Sports Awards 2022.
  • The awardees will receive their awards from the President of India at a specially organized function at Rashtrapati Bhavan on 30th November, 2022.
  • Table tennis star Achanta Sharath Kamal has been announced as the Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award 2022 winner.
  • Sharath Kamal had a sparkling outing at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, where he clinched four medals, including three golds.
  • The Dronacharya Award for outstanding coaches in Sports and Games Regular category went to Jiwanjot Singh Teja (Archery), Mohammad Ali Qamar (Boxing), Suma Siddharth Shirur (Para Shooting) and Sujeet Maan (Wrestling).
  • India captain Rohit Sharma's coach, Dinesh Jawahar Lad, was given the Dronacharya Award in the lifetime category for his contributions to cricket.
