· Umngot River in Meghalaya has become the cleanest river in the country.
· Popularly known as the Dawki River, the Umngot River is 100 km from Shillong in Meghalaya.
· The Umngot flows into the village of Mawlynnong, close to India's border with Bangladesh, which has been called "the cleanest village in Asia". It serves as a natural divider between the Jaintia and Khasi Hills before finally flowing into Bangladesh.
