  • Famous cricket commentator Mark Nicholas, who was also a cricketer, will become the next president of the prestigious President of Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC). 
  • The 65-year-old's term will begin on October 1, 2023 and last for one year.
  • His appointment was announced by current MCC president Stephen Fry at the Club’s Annual General Meeting.
  • Mark, who played as a top-order batter and medium-pace bowler for Hampshire and captained England A, was elected as a Member of MCC in 1981.
  • He was named as Sports Presenter of the Year in 2001 and 2005 by the Royal Television Society.
