Aspirational Block Program (ABP) was released by NITI Aayog in December 2023.
This was the first edition of the Aspirational Block Programme.
The ranking of the blocks has been calculated based on the performance of the blocks and the progress achieved in key performance indicators in the month of June 2023.
500 blocks are included in this index.
This index has been prepared on the basis of 40 indicators.
Aspirational Block Program Tiriyani Kumuram Bheem block of Asifabad, Telangana has got the first position.
Kaushambi block of Kaushambi district of Uttar Pradesh has got the second place.
The Aspirational Block Program was launched on January 7, 2023.
ABP focuses on improving governance to enhance the quality of life of citizens in India's most difficult and relatively underdeveloped blocks.
