The Kuki-Zo Council (KZC) has allowed free movement of commuters and essential goods along National Highway-02 (NH-02), a key step toward restoring normalcy in Manipur. The decision followed talks with the Ministry of Home Affairs. A tripartite meeting involving the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Government of Manipur, Kuki National Organisation (KNO) and United People’s Front (UPF) also led to a revised Suspension of Operations (SoO) Agreement for one year, reaffirming Manipur’s territorial integrity. Key commitments include camp relocations, depositing weapons, and cadre verification. A Joint Monitoring Group will enforce compliance. The move comes ahead of PM Modi’s visit to the state.
