A metro staff, Sumit Mukherjee from Kolkata bagged a gold medal in the Bridge Federation of Asia and Middle-East Championship (BFAME) held at Pakistan’s Lahore.
Sumit was the only railway staff in the Indian contingent which had 24 members.
The Championship was held from May 5 to May 13, in which several teams belonging to five different countries took part.
The Indian team participated in games that were divided in four categories, namely: open, ladies, mixed and senior.
Sumit Mukherjee represented India in the open category.
Earlier in 2018, Sumit Mukherjee won a bronze medal in Jakarta Asian Game. He also bagged the 4th Asia Cup Bridge Championship held at Jakarta in 2022.
Apart from this, Sumit has won many national and international titles.
