  • A metro staff, Sumit Mukherjee from Kolkata bagged a gold medal in the Bridge Federation of Asia and Middle-East Championship (BFAME) held at Pakistan’s Lahore. 
  • Sumit was the only railway staff in the Indian contingent which had 24 members.
  • The Championship was held from May 5 to May 13, in which several teams belonging to five different countries took part.
  • The Indian team participated in games that were divided in four categories, namely: open, ladies, mixed and senior. 
  • Sumit Mukherjee represented India in the open category.
  • Earlier in 2018, Sumit Mukherjee won a bronze medal in Jakarta Asian Game. He also bagged the 4th Asia Cup Bridge Championship held at Jakarta in 2022.
  • Apart from this, Sumit has won many national and international titles.
