Kisan Diwas, or National Farmers Day, is celebrated across India on 23 December to honour farmers’ vital contribution to the nation’s economy and food security. The day marks the birth anniversary of Chaudhary Charan Singh, India’s fifth Prime Minister and a champion of farmers’ rights. Celebrations include seminars, agricultural exhibitions, awareness programmes, and interactions between policymakers and farmers, promoting sustainable practices, technological innovation, and inspiring rural youth to engage in modern agriculture.
