Kristy Coventry was elected the new president of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) at the 144th IOC session held in Costa Navarino, Greece.
She became the 10th president of the IOC and is the first woman and African member to reach this position.
Coventry will assume office on June 23, 2025, while the current president Thomas Bach will become honorary president after completing his term.
