  • In 2024, only 720,998 children were born in Japan, representing a 5% decline compared to the previous year and the lowest number since records began in 1899. 
  • Despite government policies, the decline in the birth rate has already reached the estimated level of 15 years ago, leading to an estimate that Japan's population will decrease by 30% to 87 million by 2070, with 40% of the population being 65 years or older.
