Jaish-e-Mohammed Renames Itself to Al-Murabitun Amid Sanctions

The Pakistan-based terrorist group Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) has renamed itself Al-Murabitun (“defenders of Islam”) to continue operations within Pakistan despite international sanctions. Responsible for attacks, including the 2001 Indian Parliament and 26/11 Mumbai attacks, JeM is relocating its bases deeper into Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and continuing recruitment under the protection of Pakistan’s Army and police.
