The Pakistan-based terrorist group Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) has renamed itself Al-Murabitun (“defenders of Islam”) to continue operations within Pakistan despite international sanctions. Responsible for attacks, including the 2001 Indian Parliament and 26/11 Mumbai attacks, JeM is relocating its bases deeper into Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and continuing recruitment under the protection of Pakistan’s Army and police. The renaming ensures operational continuity and expansion of training hubs. India and global agencies remain alert.
