Iran has appointed 54-year-old Fatemeh Mohajerani as its first female government spokesperson.
President Pezeshkian made the appointment in a cabinet meeting on 28 August 2024.
She has previously served as the head of the Technical and Vocational Training University of Shariati, a women's institution, during Iran's 11th government.
