  • The International Day of Yoga is marked annually on June 21 on a global scale since 2015.

  • This year, the theme for International Yoga Day is "Yoga for Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam," which beautifully encapsulates our collective aspiration for "One Earth, One Family, One Future."
  • In the year 2023, it is the 9th year of International Yoga Day and the day is being celebrated across the world.
  • This year, PM Narendra Modi will lead a yoga session from UN headquarters today, on June 21, 2023.
  • June 21 was declared as the International Yoga Day by the United Nations General Assembly.
  • It was first observed on June 21, 2015. From then, International Yoga Day has become a global phenomenon, and it is now celebrated in over 190 countries.
  • Maharishi Patanjali, a great sage was the father of Yoga. He explained about the yoga sutras.
