The International Day of Yoga is marked annually on June 21 on a global scale since 2015.
An invaluable gift of ancient Indian tradition, yoga has emerged as one of the most trusted means to boost physical and mental well-being.
This year, the theme for International Yoga Day is "Yoga for Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam," which beautifully encapsulates our collective aspiration for "One Earth, One Family, One Future."
In the year 2023, it is the 9th year of International Yoga Day and the day is being celebrated across the world.
This year, PM Narendra Modi will lead a yoga session from UN headquarters today, on June 21, 2023.
June 21 was declared as the International Yoga Day by the United Nations General Assembly.
It was first observed on June 21, 2015. From then, International Yoga Day has become a global phenomenon, and it is now celebrated in over 190 countries.
Maharishi Patanjali, a great sage was the father of Yoga. He explained about the yoga sutras.
