  • Since 1998, the 22nd of October has been designated as International Stuttering Awareness Day. 
  • The goal of the day is to promote public awareness of the millions of people who suffer from stuttering or stammering. 
  • "Speak the change you wish to see," is the theme of International Stuttering Awareness Day 2021.
  • Stuttering is a speech problem marked by the repetition of sounds, syllables, or words, as well as sound prolonging and block interruptions. 
  • A person who stutters knows exactly what he or she wants to say, but is unable to do so in a regular manner.
