  • The main objective of celebrating this day is to spread awareness against corruption and motivate the civil society including government, private and non-government organizations to take joint action to eradicate corruption.
  • The 'United Nations Convention Against Corruption' was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in the year 2003 to celebrate this day.
  • According to UNO, every year around the world about 2.6 trillion dollars is lost either through bribery or corrupt practices.
  • Every year $1 trillion is paid as bribe.
  • The theme of this day of the year 2023 will be 'UNCAC. At 20: Uniting the World Against Corruption'.
