  • The Indian Army celebrates October 27 every year as the ‘Infantry Day’. 
  • On October 27, 2021, the nation will commemorate its 75th Infantry Day. On this day, the 1st Battalion of the Sikh Regiment landed at the Srinagar airbase and demonstrated tenacity and extraordinary bravery in becoming 'The Wall' to thwart the evil designs of the Pakistan Army, which had invaded Kashmir with the help of tribal raiders in 1947.
  • Infantry is the largest fighting arm of the Indian Army, also popularly known as the “Queen of the Battle”, it is the backbone of the Indian Army and Its soldiers play the main role in any war.
