The Indian Air Force (IAF) contingent arrived at the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Base Darwin, Australia to participate in Exercise Pitch Black 2024, a biennial multi-national exercise hosted by the RAAF from July 12 to August 2.
This edition of Exercise Pitch Black is the largest in its 43-year history, with participation from 20 countries, involving over 140 aircraft and 4400 military personnel, focusing on Large Force Employment warfare and enhancing international cooperation.
The IAF contingent, consisting of over 150 Air Warriors, will be operating Su-30 MKI multirole fighters along with C-17 Globemaster and IL-78 Air-to-Air Refuelling aircraft, providing a platform for force integration, mutual exchange of best practices, and strengthening aviation associations in the Indo-Pacific region.
